Claude Dashboards is now in beta, and it turns a plain-language question about your company data into a live chart that refreshes on its own. Anthropic announced it on October 8 alongside Claude Motion, and moved Docs, Slides and Design out of beta for every plan, Free included.
Here are the numbers and dates worth knowing before you click anything.
- Dashboards is in beta on paid plans; Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise.
- Docs, Slides and Design are out of beta on every plan, including Free.
- Enterprise admins: Docs, Slides and Design switch on by default on October 15.
- The standalone Claude Design site closes on December 14.
If you only use Claude for chat, the Free-plan change is the news. If you manage a team, the dates matter more.
How Claude Dashboards turns a question into a live chart
You open Claude and describe what you want, such as a dashboard of this quarter’s revenue by region. Claude connects to data platforms including Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift and ClickHouse, plus CRM tools such as Salesforce, then builds the dashboard for you.
Two details make it more trustworthy than a pretty chart. Each chart shows when its data last refreshed, and clicking a number reveals the query behind it. You can then ask Claude to explain that query in plain words.
Anthropic says Dashboards suits quick, exploratory questions. When you need deeper analysis, you can send the result to tools like Hex, Mixpanel, PostHog, Grafana or Sigma. Looker, monday.com and Tableau are listed as coming soon.
That is a useful split. Use Claude to find the interesting question fast, then move the serious work into your usual analytics stack.
Claude Motion: animated explainers without a video model
Claude Motion makes a short animated explainer from a prompt. You preview it like a video, edit it in the editor or ask Claude to revise it, then download an MP4.
Anthropic says Motion does not use a video generation model. It writes code that animates your own text, charts, shapes and images, so words, numbers and timing stay editable. That also means no generated footage and no AI-made people on screen.
You can open the result in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway. Canva and Captions are marked as coming soon. For anyone who has fought a video editor just to fix a typo, editable text is the real selling point.
Who gets Claude Dashboards, Motion and the rest
| Feature | Status | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboards | Beta | Paid plans |
| Motion | Beta | Team and Enterprise |
| Docs, Slides, Design | Out of beta | Every plan, including Free |
| Enterprise admin switch | Dashboards and Motion off by default; others on Oct 15 | Organization settings > Artifacts |
Sharing outside your organization, or with anyone who has the link, works only if your admin allows it. PowerPoint and PDF exports keep the editor’s formatting, and decks can go to Google Slides as editable files.
Anthropic also says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude. That figure comes from the company itself, as Unite.AI noted, so treat it as a marketing number.
The December 14 deadline for Claude Design users
Claude Design started at claude.ai/design and has worked inside every Claude conversation since September 16. The standalone site stays open until December 14, then redirects to Claude.
If you have projects there, act before that date. According to Unite.AI, chats and project comments in the standalone version will not carry over, and public links to standalone projects will stop working.
Here is the short checklist to follow.
- Export each project you want to keep as a .zip, one at a time.
- Admins can use “Migrate team design systems” on the Artifacts page to move every design system in one step.
- Empty design systems, or ones built from a starter theme, are not migrated.
Organizations with zero data retention cannot enable artifacts, so they must download their projects before the site closes.
The same week brought other Anthropic news, including Claude Haiku 5.5 and its API price cut. And if you are comparing assistants that build visuals inside chat, see how ChatGPT Intelligent UI handles charts and forms.

Should you try Claude Dashboards now?
If you already pay for Claude and have a warehouse full of data nobody has time to chart, yes, try it on a low-risk question and check the query behind each number. Skip it for anything that feeds board reports until it leaves beta. And if you have old Claude Design projects, export them this week rather than on December 13.
