Galaxy Z TriFold 2 and Five More Foldables: What Samsung’s 2027 Leak Says

The Galaxy Z TriFold 2 may be the first Samsung foldable you see in 2027, ahead of the usual Fold and Flip launches. That’s the claim from a leaker called TheGalox, who says Samsung is preparing six foldable-style phones next year. None of it is official yet, so treat it as a strong rumor, not a plan.

Here’s the short version of what’s being reported, followed by what each phone might be and what’s still unknown.

The quick facts, all from leaks and press reports:

  • Six devices are rumored: Galaxy Z TriFold 2, Fold 9 Ultra, Fold 9 Pro, Fold 9, Flip 9 and Galaxy Z Slide.
  • The TriFold 2 is said to come first, possibly around CES in January 2027.
  • The regular Fold 9 and Flip 9 are expected in July or August, based on past launch patterns.
  • Samsung hasn’t confirmed any name, price or date.

If you’re deciding whether to wait on a new foldable, that last point matters most.

Who is behind the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 leak?

The six-phone list traces back to TheGalox, a tipster on X. According to SammyFans, the post names all six phones and says the TriFold 2 arrives first. T3 repeated the claim on October 20 and called the source reputable, but it found no second confirmation.

That’s a single-source leak. It fits earlier reporting, though, which is why it’s getting attention.

In July, Notebookcheck summarized a Korean industry report from ETNews. It described a “4+4” plan for 2027: four Galaxy S27 models in the first half and four foldables in the second half. That report put the TriFold 2 next to the Fold 9 in mid-2027, so the two leaks don’t agree on timing.

What each rumored phone could be

Most of these phones have almost no hard details. This table separates what’s been reported from what’s guesswork.

Rumored phone What’s reported Likely timing
Galaxy Z TriFold 2 Successor to the first TriFold. No specs leaked; display may stay near 9.96 inches. Early 2027 or mid-2027, depending on the report
Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra / Fold 9 Pro Names only. The Pro has no leaks; any wider-body idea is speculation. Summer 2027
Galaxy Z Fold 9 / Flip 9 Regular yearly replacements. July or August 2027
Galaxy Z Slide A sliding-screen design seen in prototypes and patents. Features unknown. Unclear; MWC 2027 is a guess

The Slide is the oddest entry. It’s a new shape rather than another folding screen, so expect more questions than answers until Samsung shows something.

Should you wait for the Galaxy Z TriFold 2?

It depends on what you want. The first TriFold set the template, and no pricing for the sequel has leaked. If you want a three-panel tablet-sized phone, waiting a few months is reasonable.

If you just need a good foldable, don’t hold your breath. The Fold 9 and Flip 9 are probably still a summer 2027 story, and that’s a long time to wait on a rumor.

Samsung is also busy elsewhere. Its newest software is still rolling out to older phones, as we covered in our Galaxy S23 One UI 9 update guide, and it has other new hardware coming, like the Galaxy Glasses.

How the 2027 plan fits Samsung’s bigger picture

The ETNews-based report is useful because it shows the shape of Samsung’s year, not just one phone. It describes four phones in the first half, led by the Galaxy S27 family and a new S27 Pro, then four foldables in the second half.

If that holds, the foldable season gets crowded. A TriFold 2, a Fold 9 Ultra and a Fold 9 Pro landing near each other would make Samsung’s own lineup harder to choose from. That may be why some of the names, especially the Pro, still look shaky.

Both reports agree on one thing: Samsung plans more foldable models, not fewer. The details are where they split.

What we still don’t know

A few gaps matter before anyone plans a purchase. Each one could change the picture.

  • Price: nothing has leaked for the sequel, so any number you see is a guess.
  • Specs: no chip, battery or camera details have surfaced for any of the six phones.
  • Timing: one report points to January, another to mid-2027.

Until Samsung confirms something, every date above is a placeholder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 confirmed?

No. Samsung hasn’t announced it. The name comes from leakers and industry reports.

When will the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 launch?

Nobody knows. T3 says early 2027 has been reported, with CES in January possible. A July report from ETNews, relayed by Notebookcheck, pointed to mid-2027.

What is the Galaxy Z Slide?

It’s a rumored phone with a sliding screen. It has shown up in prototypes and patents, but its features aren’t known.

Will the Galaxy Z Fold 9 launch in 2027?

Probably, going by Samsung’s usual July or August schedule. That’s an expectation, not a leaked date.

My take: don’t change any buying plans over this leak. Watch for CES in January, and if Samsung says nothing by then, assume the TriFold 2 slides toward the summer pack and buy the foldable you need today.
